  1. Why don’t they just have a sample of everyone’s DNA and fingerprints, criminal or not? The crime rate would plummet to nearly nothing. Ain’t nobody getting away with anything then. There’d be no more Jane or John Does and cold cases would be rare. Unless you’re a celebrity or a government official or someone super important, nobody would care enough to do anything with your DNA. Us regular people would have nothing to worry about. Although, for people like me who love true crime, there would be a ton less of it, that’s one downside.

  2. Another “the world is out to get you”stories… worried about all the wrong things. Most of y’all aren’t valuable or impressive enough to want or do anything with your DNA.

  3. You can tell them not to sell it before you send it in. There's a risk in every step you take lol. Your particular DNA isn't the key to a bio weapon, they can make that if they know how a body works in general 🤷‍♀️

  4. Well, the way I look it at is like this: If I ever date a girl, and she gets pregnant and says its mine, I will secretly collect the baby's saliva and send it to 23&Me to confirm if it is perhaps mine. I'm not into cuckoldry.

  5. Ive said it before and I'll say it again. This will be used as a form of eugenics, Mark my words. You think they built a database full of DNA information from millions of individuals all around the world just for learning about their ancestors and heritage? All that resource and manpower for something so mundane like that is not possible in this day and age. There is something sinister about this whole industry built around DNA testing, indeed.

  6. There is an option to where they say they won't use your DNA for further research. No way to confirm if they keep their word. Big bucks if it's discovered they are breaking their policy.

  7. If you weren't born at home, born at a private birthing facility, born by way of a midwife/doula and/or had access to/were able to obtain your placenta or if you’ve ever been to the hospital/doctor… Newsflash! Your DNA was collected at the time of your birth by way of your mother's placenta! It is not a challenge collecting the DNA of another human being. You leave traces of your DNA everywhere. If someone wants your DNA, they could get it, easily so. Instead of worrying, ask God for His protection from all ‘harm and evil’.

  8. Y’all thinking youre special enough to have DNA worth tracking. You can’t own someone’s DNA. You can’t own land, you can’t own people, you can’t own air space. You just playing yallselves swapping money for intangible things.
