Not in Florida, plenty of people in jail for 'possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana'. That is actually the crime and they arrest for it. Fifteen years ago I worked for a company that hired through a temp agency. Two young men, students at a prestigious local law school , were employed for a short time. (They did not cut it) In a conversation with one the topic of the cost of tuition came up. He laughed and said he wasn't planning on paying it back. God help America.
My daughter worked as a bartender four nights a week – 10 hours shifts – Thursday thru Sunday for four years of college. She paid for herself, lived in a two bedroom townhouse with a roommate to split costs. She graduated in 2014 with a double major in psychology and gerontology. Ended up with only $14,000 in college loans. She is currently a financial advisor for a big Wall Street bank, makes a six-figure income and she paid off her college loans by age 25. If you work hard and are careful, you can pay you loans!!!!!!

This student loan give back is just one of the worst things this Administration has done. This really makes me upset. All of the people that paid back loans, or kids that didnβt go to school because they knew they couldnβt afford the loan repayment are screwed. All the seniors who are really hurting from inflation. My husband needs a vehicle for work; is the government going to pay this back.

The federal government canceling student loan debt is stupid. Basically the government are telling these kids that contracts mean nothing. You will never be held accountable for your actions, and hardworking Americas will be paying for your debt for generations. Hopefully the Supreme Court makes the decision that this is unconstitutional. The answer is place college caps on how much universities can charge students for school.

This idea that the taxpayers are funding all this spending is hilarious. Our debt is so far beyond anything the taxpayers can support. Even if you taxed everyone at 100% it would barely pur a dent in the debt load America is carrying. At this point it is strictly smoke and mirrors. Reality left the station a long time ago. But reality was waiting down the tracks and now the debt train is going to slam into it and economic ruin is the next stop unless they can get away with defaulting on all of it.
It's not debt cancellation. It's a federal government handout which means it's the American people handout.

Shut I had the gi bill and then spent that and still had to get 40k of loans and already paid it off by just making PAYMENTS.
